Dearest Reader,
Perhaps you've been saying, βOnce this is over, I'llβ¦β
I understand.
Some things take up so much room that you can barely remember what you wanted before they arrived.
Today, I stumbled on something Marcus Aurelius wrote:
βThe impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.β
The idea is that even the things that interrupt our plans can become part of how we move forward.
For me, a dream I've held close for decades is finally finding its way into the world, right in the middle of what may be the hardest season of my life.
I could have waited for better days.
But I wonder, dearest Reader... for you, what has this situation made you want?
Is there something here you could use? Even something you now know you want to do differently?
You don't have to like what happened. Some of us would have chosen very differently, thank you. π
Still...
Perhaps there is more available to us than waiting for it to be over, for the season to pass.
I'm thinking about that too.
By the Hearth,
Maris Samuel β€οΈ
